The Mathematics Department once again held a routine study with the lecturer, Ustadz Sofyan Hadi, who was located in the courtroom of the Mathematics Department of UNP. In this routine review, Ustadz Sofyan Hadi raised the theme of the first verse in the alfatihah, namely bismillah. Ustadz started the study by stating interesting things from the letters in the Al Quran. In the Quran from 114 letters. There are only 2 letters named without the word in the letter. The two letters are al ikhlas, and al fatihah. Ustadz conveyed that Alfatihah means opening. Alfatihah is a kind of abstract from the Koran which includes the contents of the entire Quran. There are 4 contents of Al-Quran, namely 1) Aqidah, 2) Worship, 3) Muamalah, 4) History where these four things can be seen in Surah al Fatihah.

This letter al fatihah, starts with bissmillah. All scholars believe this is the first verse in the alfatihah. The interesting part is that the bissmillah sentence in al fatihah is in line with the part of the first verse that came down to the prophet Muhammad SAW, namely Iqraq bismirabbika & hellip; .

Bismillah structurally the word is not a sentence, but a description. There are missing subjects and predicts. Namely, begin with you in the name of Allah. Why did the subject and prediket be discarded? The answer is because that sentence is a human need. This is supported by one hadith which means, & ldquo; .. all work that does not start with bismillah allah revoke his blessings & rdquo ;. Uztadz emphasized that barakah does not lie in the amount but in the use value and the base of the blessing is bismillah. Why did Allah throw away the subject and predicate on bismillah. Because when humans want to work, they call God. The work done will be influenced by bismillah, so the quality of work will be different.

Writing bismillah, grammatically there are oddities, where it should be the letter ba, grammatically there is an alif like the one in the first letter down & ldquo; Iqraq bismirabbila & hellip; & rdquo ;. But that is where it stands out. Where this shows that humans with the name of Allah must unite and cannot be separated. Other interesting things about bismillah that were conveyed by ustadz were as follows;

  1. If you give alif the number of letters will be 20. If without alif the number of letters is 19.
  2. Surat al alaq, in jus amma, begins with amma yatasa alun, … Until al alaq, number 19, from al alaq and above is also 19.
  3. In closing al alaq allah speaks of the sabaniah, the 19 guardian angels of hell.
  4. If a person practices bismillah in every activity, then it is sufficient that he will not meet the angel who is 19 (guardian of hell).

Hopefully we all always start our activities with the sentence of bissmillah.
