In order to realize one of the visions and missions of the mathematics department, namely creating scientists based on faith and piety, the mathematics department is back to carry out routine religious studies activities. This activity was filled by Dr. Sofyan Hadi. Imam Bonjol UIN lecturer, Padang, West Sumatra.

Taking place in the math department courtroom starting at 09.00 WIB on January 8, 2020, the study begins with 7 practices that have eternal value in the eyes of Allah SWT. One of the seven is a person who teaches science. Ustadz Dr. Sofyan Hadi explained that the knowledge that is meant is not only religious knowledge but general knowledge. For this reason, he highly emphasized to lecturers who are educators that the profession carried out to educate the nation’s life is a practice of extraordinary value.

Dr. Sofyan Hadi said that Allah SWT knows everything, including knowledge. Knowledge is a gift from Allah SWT. Allah SWT is the one who gives knowledge to humans as contained in the Albaqarah verse 282. Which means …, and fear Allah, Allah teaches you, and Allah is omniscient about everything.

According to ustadz, above from knowledge is wisdom. Hikmah also means a collection of virtues and glory that is able to make the owner put something in its place (proportionally). Al-Hikmah is also an expression of one’s actions done at the right time and in the right way. (Al-Qur & # 39; an, Tafsir wa Bayan; 412). This wisdom is what distinguishes devout people from knowledgeable people. Allah SWT gives knowledge to disbelievers. But only the chosen servants of Allah are given by Allah SWT wisdom, one of which is in the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Hopefully, the educators in Indonesia, especially those in the mathematics department, will be given knowledge and wisdom by Allah SWT. amen.
