Two Study Programes of Mathematics Department Asess by ASIIN
The mathematics department shown its seriousness in improving the quality of education. One of them is by implementing international accreditation. The international accreditation followed by mathematics department is ASIIN (The Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics from Germany) which is registered in EQAR (The European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education) as one of the recognized accreditations. by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture. Mathematics department with its two study programs, mathematics and mathematics education, is part of cluster A with the department of physics. Due to the pandemic, the audit was conducted online on 6, 7 and 8 July 2021 starting at 14.00 WIB until 18.00 WIB via the Zoom Meeting application.
On the first day of the audit process, an interview session starts with the university leader. This session was attended by the rector, vice chancellor, dean, head of institution, vice dean, and head of bureau. Followed by a session with the heads of the mathematics and natural sciences faculties and study program coordinators and the task force teams of each study program involved.
On the second day, the activities started with interview sessions with students and alumni and continued with interview sessions with study program lecturers. The audit on this second day closed with live streaming facilities at 20.00 WIB.
On the last day of the audit process carried out by ASIIN assessors, they interviewed users who graduated from the study program and ended with a general conclusion session on the results of the visitation. This Online Visitation is carried out by implementing strict Covid-19 health protocols. Where all participants and committees involved must do an antigen swab test.
It is hoped that with ASIIN’s international accreditation, the department can improve and demonstrate the quality of its education and teaching at Universitas Negeri Padang with international standards. The department would like to express its deepest gratitude to all staff, students, alumni and stakeholders who have been involved in this activity.
